| Onsight serves the Northern California Bay Area, including Marin, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties. Our principle consultant, Gary Karp has been doing ergonomics consulting since 1993 for a wide array of Bay Area companies.
We have assembled a selection of photos taken at individual workstation visits to give you a taste of the array of issues we address when we visit your company. After reading this material, contact us for more detailed information at ergo@onsightergo.com, or call 415/-491-4280. |

| The foundation of Onsight's ergonomics work is education.
It is not enough to adjust a chair, or the position of a keyboard and monitor. People need to understand basic principles of anatomy, ergonomics, and work style so they can control their own environment. To be comfortable. To be safe. Our work always begins with Group Training. The presentation makes the follow up workstation visits vastly more effective. It's also a good show. And as Terri Hinte of Fantasy Records in Berkeley says: "Onsight's training should be required for everyone who uses a computer." The training gives people tools they can immediately apply to their work, yet there are so many issues specific to the person, their work style, and their actual desk area, that individual visits are a necessity, as Maria Mindlin of Transcend in Davis, CA says: "Your personalized consultation with each of the members of our office has made a tremendous difference in our daily work habits." Individual Workstation Consultation An individual Workstation Consultation takes from 30 to 45 minutes, and involves a detailed survey of individual ergonomic issues, and reinforcement of the training material. People are typically amazed at how much there is to cover, and how much can be accomplished both at the consultation itself, and by following Onsight's recommendations. We take time to understand the job and the relationship the person has to their work. Ergonomics is more than simply adjusting the chair and keyboard. It is a comprehensive and holistic view of the nature and quality of our work life. A brief questionnaire is supplied in advance to minimize interview time at the consultation. In some cases, video tape is taken of either their working posture or keyboard technique. This tool provides unique insight into personal work habits. Consultations are performed personably and with sensitivity to the choices people make in the quest for comfort. They know their jobs better than anyone, so this experience is a cooperative one, a search for solutions to problems, and a means of adding to their skills by increasing their awareness of comfort and how to achieve it. A report is written as a follow up for each person who gets a full workstation consultation. For work performed on a day rate, an overall report is provided with brief reports for individuals giving key recommendations. Onsight will work with a company liaison to determine candidates for consultation, based on such criteria as existing symptoms, degree of stress, repetition, and other risk factors. Others may be evaluated on a more informal basis. |

| This legal secretary is working comfortably, with her arms relaxed from her shoulders, paperwork in front of her, and well supported and sitting back in her chair.
Her chair, keyboard tray, and document holder are all adjustable and she knows what to do with them, thanks to Training and Consultation from Onsight Ergonomics. |
